Abstract

This paper aims to understand the comprehensive context of domestic mental health by analyzing the modern mental health paradigm’s main characteristics, which are related to deinstitutionalization, the voluntary sector, and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), in terms of space-time. For data and methods, analyzing related words based on news big data as a diachronic perspective is chosen; besides, visualization and spatial statistic are used for a synchronic aspect. The results are as follows: first, we identify the characteristics of mental health care after the enactment of the Korean Mental Health Act via the analysis of related words. The related words include general features of modern mental health; also, it reflects mental health issues in a period such as 'Corona Blue'. Second, as a result of exploring the distribution of mental health welfare centers and psychiatric hospitals, mental health welfare centers are deinstitutionalized across the country, but the hospitals for treatment are still distributed in the Greater Seoul. For a healthier mental health care system, it requires a micro approach including the relationship between caregivers and care recipients from a perspective of a regional/local level.

본 연구는 현대 정신건강 패러다임의 주요 특징인 탈시설화, 비전문의료인의 참여, 대체의학적 관점을 시공간적 측면에서 분석한 결과로 국내 정신건강의 거시적 맥락을 파악하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 연구의 방법으로 통시적 관점에서 뉴스빅데이터를 기반한 연관어 분석을, 공시적 관점에서는 시각화 및 공간통계분석을 활용하였으며, 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연관어 분석을 통해 정신보건법 제정 이후의 정신건강의 특징을 확인했다. 연관어들은 전반적인 현대 정신건강의 특징을 포함하며. ‘코로나 블루’ 등 시기별 정신건강 이슈를 반영하고 있다. 둘째로, 공간 분석을 통해 정신건강복지센터와 정신의료기관의 분포를 탐구한 결과, 정신건강복지센터는 탈시설화가 전국적으로 이뤄지고 있으나, 진료병원은 여전히 수도권에 편향되어 있다. 보다 건강한 정신건강체계를 위해서는 지역적 차원에서 돌봄 주체 및 대상의 관계에 대한 미시적 접근이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.
