A Study on Map Representation Techniques Based on Zoom Level in Web GIS: A Case of State-Designated Heritage Data 공간정보 웹 서비스에서 줌 레벨에 따른 지도 표현 기법 연구 - 국가지정 유산 자료를 사례로

Abstract

Web GIS services are increasingly enabling users to utilize diverse content in real-time. In particular, services providing content mashed up with spatial information via web services are expanding. In this study, map representation techniques according to zoom levels were analyzed, and efficient expression methods were proposed to complement the large-scale-centered content delivery of existing spatial information web services. This allows the spatial distribution of content to be delivered to users in various forms even at small scales. The National Heritage Spatial Information Service was analyzed as a case study, and a spatial information web service was developed and implemented in which National Heritage data is represented in various map formats depending on the zoom level. As a result, National Heritage data could be expressed in appropriate map forms according to changes in zoom level, and this process was performed dynamically to enable real-time map representation. Effective web service delivery was achieved in terms of operating time and performance, and the locations and spatial distribution characteristics of the data could be effectively identified by users across different zoom levels.

공간정보 서비스를 통하여 다양한 콘텐츠가 사용자에게 실시간으로 활용되고 있으며, 특히 웹 서비스를 이용하여 공간정보에 콘텐츠를 매시업하여 제공하는 서비스가 확대되고 있다. 본 연구는 공간정보 웹서비스에서 대축척 중심으로 콘텐츠를 제공하는 기능을 보완하여 소축척에서도 콘텐츠의 공간분포 현황을 사용자에게 다양한 형태로 전달할 수 있도록 줌 레벨에 따른 지도 표현 기법을 분석하고, 효율적인 표현 방안을 제안하였다. 공간정보 웹 서비스의 사례로 국가유산 공간정보 서비스를 분석하고, 국가지정 유산 데이터를 사례로 줌 레벨에 따라 다양한 형태의 지도로 표현하는 공간정보 웹 서비스를 개발하고 구현하였다. 그 결과 줌 레벨의 변화에 따라 국가지정 유산 데이터를 적절한 형태의 지도로 표현할 수 있었으며, 이러한 과정이 동적으로 수행되어 실시간으로 지도 표현이 가능하였다. 웹 서비스 과정에서 작동 시간이나 성능 측면에서 효과적으로 웹 서비스가 가능하였으며, 사용자 입장에서도 줌 레벨에 따라 데이터의 위치와 공간적 분포 특성을 효과적으로 파악할 수 있었다.
