The main purpose of this study is to identify the actual conditions of industrial-educational convergence districts that have been operated for more than 10 years as a policy tool and to draw implications. The site of the industrial-educational convergence district is large, but the number of people, who are in charge of the operation of the industrial-educational convergence district, is small at an average of 17.5 people. The Institute for Industry-University Convergence conducts public projects funded by central governments, and among them, 4 regions where ordinances have been enacted by local government are carrying out their own, industry focused projects. A total of 124 confessors are active in the Industry-University Convergence District, and among them, professor confessors account for a high proportion, so there are plans to expand private confessor in the future. Existing industrial-educational convergence districts can be difficult if the central government focus only on new designation, so the industrial-educational convergence districts try to convert to R&D and innovation-oriented districts. It is necessary to build a cooperative relationship between industry-academic convergence districts to create innovate synergy, and create a good working environment with sustainability.
